Sabtang Island
Sabtang Island is one of the most beautiful islands in Batanes. It is a well-preserved town with lots of stone houses and foot-thick cogon roofs, intermittent white sand beaches and where people live in peace and harmony with nature practicing their inherent cultural traditions and way of life. Vunung
It is highly recommended that tourists try vunung when in Batanes. It is the traditional way of serving Ivatan food on special occasions, composed of fish, pork, and/or beef, and vegetables served with turmeric rice wrapped in kabaya leaves.
Dibang
Visitors must also try a dish with Dibang as its main ingredient. It is a flying fish abundant in Batanes during summer. Often served during breakfast and more prevalent during the summer season, it is commonly sold grilled along the sidewalks of Abad street, the commercial center of Basco.
